Browse Screen Features
The IntervalMAX database may be browsed to see the effects of an analysis, view service history data, implement Reliability Target changes, etc.
The
Browse Screens are accessed from the Browse menu
on the Main Screen.
Available Browse Screens include:
Browse
Class Codes
Browse Subclasses
Browse Similar Equipment Groups
Browse Models
Browse
Manufacturers
Browse Serial Numbers
Browse Cumulative History |
Each
of these Screens contain activation buttons to access lower level Browse
Screens. The features and functions of the various Browse Screens are
described below.
Browse
Models
The
Browse Models Screen shown above displays virtually all that can be said about Manufacturer/Models that have been analyzed by
IntervalMAX. Manufacturer/Model Reliability Targets may be changed on the
Browse Models Screen. The Reliability Target for a specific
Manufacturer/Model is changed via the following procedure:
-
Click the row in the grid for the Manufacturer/Model that the item belongs to.
-
Click the cell containing its Reliability Target.
-
Type the desired Reliability Target in the cell. This must be a decimal number between zero and one.

When a new Model Level analysis is run, the Model Level interval will be computed using the new Reliability Target.
Modifying a Model Level Reliability Target activates the Model Reliability Targets
Screen where you have the option to apply a Model Level Default change to only new Serial Numbers, as they are added to the Model Number, or to apply the change to both new and existing Serial Numbers. In the latter case, you have the option to change the Reliability Targets for all items within the Manufacturer/Model or only those items currently set at the Model Level Default.

Serial Numbers
If criticality, usage or other requirements dictate that a given instrument be calibrated more or less frequently than others, the control for meeting this requirement may be implemented in the form of an individual Reliability Target.
Individual instrument Reliability Targets may be set on the Browse Serial
Numbers Screen.
Browse
Class Codes and Subclasses
These
Browse Screens show the current status of each Instrument Class or
Subclass with respect to interval control variables.
The Reliability Target for an Instrument Class or Subclass may be changed regardless of whether an interval approval has taken place or not. However, the change will not be implemented for the current analysis results. It will come into effect in the next analysis run.
Instrument Classes and Subclasses can be created, updated or deleted with the
Class Code Builder.
Browse
Similar Equipment Groups
This
Browse Screen shows the current status of each Group with respect to interval control variables.
The field Analysis Candidate deserves some comment, however.
An Analysis Candidate is an Instrument Class, Similar Equipment Group or
Manufacturer/Model that has accumulated sufficient data since its prior analysis to justify a new analysis.
The option to analyze only Analysis Candidates is provided on the Candidate
Selection Pick List Screen.
Defining a Similar Equipment Group is advisable from the standpoint of accumulating sufficient data for interval analysis.
Similar Equipment Groups can be created, updated or deleted with the Similar
Equipment Group Builder. The Reliability Target for a Similar Equipment Group may be changed
regardless of whether an interval approval has taken place or not. However, the change will not be implemented for the current analysis results. It will come into effect in the next analysis run.
Browse
Manufacturers
The contents and usage of this screen is similar to the
Browse Models Screen.
Browse Cumulative History
When the
Candidate Selection Pick List and the Data Filter Pick List Screens are used, IntervalMAX isolates a subset of its cumulative service history that corresponds to the pick list keys. All fields for each record of this subset can be viewed using the
Browse Cumulative History Screen.
