Exporting Interval Analysis Results

Approved intervals from IntervalMAX can be exported to an external database through the use of the External Serial Number Interval Assignment Setup Screen, which is accessed by clicking the Setup button on the External Serial Number Interval Assignment Screen.  Brief descriptions of the features and functions for the Setup Screen tabs are given below.

Profile Data
The Database Type refers to the data base application to which the data are to be exported.  The types of external file formats supported by IntervalMAX are selected from a dropdown list and include:

Microsoft Access 2000 and earlier
dBase III and IV
ODBC

The External Data File is the full directory path and file name for the data file to which data will be exported. The location may be typed or selected by browsing the workstation or network on which the external data file resides.  The  external file name is also entered in the Write To field.

The Connect String is a key that participates in unlocking access to the database or file containing the data to be imported.

Field Definitions

This portion of the screen is used to assign the IntervalMAX database fields that you wish to export into the corresponding external database fields.  The basic steps are as follows:

  1. Select the units (days, weeks or months) for the field in which the current interval is written in the IntervalMAX database.

  2. Click the Try Connect button. If the correct Connection Data have been entered, a list of the fields found in the external database will appear in the Available Names list.

  3. Drag each relevant field name from the Available Names list and drop it in the corresponding row of the External Field Names column.

  4. Click the OK button to complete the Interval Assignment Setup.
